An unlined shell for rain that is not a storm. The face fabric is a recycled polyester ripstop with a durable water-repellent finish, so light rain beads and runs off rather than soaking in, and seams at the shoulder and hood are taped. This is a repellent shell, not a waterproof membrane: it handles a commute and a dog walk, not a day on a mountain. Adjustable hood with a single rear pull, two zipped hand pockets, and a storm flap over the main zip. Cut long enough to cover a hip and roomy enough for a sweater underneath.
Machine wash cold on gentle, tumble dry low. The heat is what reactivates the repellent finish. Reproof once a season with a spray-on treatment.
